Welcome to Think, Design, Play!

We are researchers at York University’s Institute for Research on Digital Learning. This is a portal for our Think, Design, Play project which is a longitudinal study of game-based learning, specifically, the introduction of computational thinking and literacy in the k-12 grades through a curriculum focused on game development (using Yoyo’s free Game Maker Studio software).

The resources on this site are intended for fellow researchers, academics and graduate students interested in educational media, technology and game-based learning, as well as for teachers looking to introduce computational thinking and game development activities in their classroom.

The Think Design Play project is led by Dr. Jennifer Jenson at York University, and is funded through the generous support of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
